As COVID-19 swab samples for PCR testing increases during phase 2, biomedical laboratory professionals working in medical diagnostic laboratory are critical in the provision of fast and accurate result, enabling contact tracing and ringfencing of COVID-19 infected people in Singapore. In this Zaobao article (in Mandarin) on 17th May 2021, ABMLPS President Dr Shirlena touched on the importance of medical technologists in the testing laboratory to support testing and the increasing need to uplift our profession in Singapore to retain and attract talent.
