Speaker: Dr Harsha Sheorey

Dr Harsha Sheorey is a Staff Specialist in Microbiology Department, St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and a part time Staff Specialist in Microbiology Department, Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has extensive and varied experience in clinical microbiology having worked both in Australia and India. His interests include Parasitology, Ocular microbiology, Mycology and Mycobacteriology and has organised numerous workshops in parasitology, ocular microbiology and mycology.

He is also involved in organising the scientific programs for Royal College of Pathology of Australasia, Australian Society of Microbiology and the Parasitology Master Class. 

His special interest is in clinical parasitology and tropical medicine and has written a book titled “Clinical Parasitology – a handbook for medical practitioners and microbiologists”, a second edition of which has being published. He is an invited writer for the ASM Manual of Clinical Microbiology and has written the chapter on Nematodes for 4 editions of the manual. He co-ordinates an international e-Diagnosis expert group in parasitology.
